El Colibrí piquiancho o Colibrí pico ancho (Cynanthus latirostris) fué registrado por Swainson en 1827 y es nativo del Continente Norte Americano. Su hábitat natural comprende desde tierras áridas que van desde el nivel del mar hacia las montañas, hasta bosques húmedos. Por esta amplia adaptabilidad, puede ser encontrada desde los Estados de Arizona, Nuevo México, California, Texas y Louisiana en los E.U.A., pasando por los Estados de Sonora, Chihuahua, Nuevo León, Tamaulipas hacia el sur hasta Veracruz y Oaxaca en México. De pico a cola mide 10 cm.

The Broad-billed hummingbird or Broad-peak hummingbird (Cynanthus latirostris) was registred by Swainson in 1827 and it is native to the North American Continent. Its natural habitat ranges from arid lands ranging from sea level to the mountains, to moist forests. For this wide adaptability, this bird can be found from the States of Arizona, New Mexico, California, Texas and Louisiana in de U.S.A., through the States of Sonora, Chihuahua, Nuevo Leon, Tamaulipas south to Veracruz and Oaxaca in Mexico. From peak to tail it measures 3.94 in.

El Colibrí prieto o Colibrí oscuro (Cynanthus sordidus) es endémico de México. Fué registrado por el Ornitólogo y Naturalista John Gould en 1859. Su hábitat natual incluye bosques tropicales y subtropicales húmedos de tierras bajas, así como zonas de arbustos tropicales y subtropicales de tierras altas. Se distribuye desde el oeste hacia el centro y sur del País específicamente en los Estados de Jalisco, Michoacán, Guerrero, Oaxaca, Hidalgo, Estado de México, Morelos, Puebla e incluso estan presentes en la Ciudad de México. De pico a cola mide 10 cm.

Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical moist lowland forest and subtropical or tropical high altitude shrubland. It is distributed from the west to the center and south of the Country, specifically in the States of Jalisco, Michoacan, Guerrero, Oaxaca, Hidalgo, Estado de Mexico, Morelos Puebla and are even present in Mexico City. From peak to tail it measures 3.94 in.
