Anthracothorax viridis

El Mango verde o Zumbador verde de Puerto Rico (Anthracothorax viridis) fué registrado por Audebert y Vieillot en 1801. Esta ave es endémica de la isla principal de Puerto Rico, así como de su archipiélago. Su hábitat natural son los bosques de montaña y regiones montañosas de la isla sin embargo, a menudo, puede ser encontrado en plantaciones de café y otros tipos de plantaciones. De pico a cola mide entre 12 y 13 centímetros.

The Green mango or Porto Rican mango (Anthracothorax viridis) was registered by Audebert & Vieillot in 1801. This bird is endemic to the main island of Puerto Rico and its archipelago. Its natural habitats are mountain forests and mountainous regions of the island however, often can be found in coffee plantations and other types of plantations. From peak to tail it measures between 4.72 to 5.12 inches.

Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests and heavily degraded former forest and it can be also easily seen in the gardens of the houses. Su distribución incluye a República Dominicana, Haití, Puerto Rico, Islas Vírgenes Británicas e Islas Vírgenes de los E.U.A., así como la isla Inagua en las Bahamas. Su hábitat natural son los bosques secos subtropicales o tropicales, bosques húmedos subtropicales o tropicales de tierras bajas y antiguos bosques muy degradados. Su distribución comprende Brasil (desde el Rio Amazonas a lo largo de una franja de unos 1500 kilómetros hasta la costa) Guayana Francesa, Surinam, Guyana y Venezuela (a lo largo de una franja bordeando la Costa Atlántica) Trinidad y Tobago, Granada, San Vicente y las Granadinas, Barbados, Santa Lucia, Martinica, Dominica, Guadalupe, Montserrat, Antigua y Barbuda y San Cristóbal y Nieves. De pico a cola mide 12 cm.

El Colibrí garganta negra o Mango pechiverde (Anthracothorax prevostii) fué registrado por Lesson en 1832. Su hábitat natural son las selvas lluviosas, vegetación secundaria e incluso zonas donde la vegetación es poco densa. Claramente, existen tres grupos. El primero su distribución comprende del sur de Tamaulipas a Chiapas y toda la península de Yucatán en México, Guatemala, Belice, Honduras, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Costa Rica y el Norte de Panamá. El segundo grupo por su parte, se distribuye desde la península de la Guajira en Colombia y Venezuela. El último grupo se encuentra en las Bahamas en el Mar Caribe. De pico a cola mide 12 cm.

The Green-breasted mango (Anthracothorax prevostii) was registered by Lesson in 1832. Its natural habitat are the rain forests, secondary vegetation and also areas where vegetation is sparse. Clearly there are two groups. The first group is distributed from southern Tamaulipas to Chiapas and throughout the Yucatan peninsula in Mexico, Guatemala, Belize, Honduras, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Costa Rica and northern Panama. On the other hand, the second group is distributed from the Guajira peninsula in Colombia and Venezuela. The last group breads in the Bahamas in the Caribbean Sea. From peak to tail it measures 4.72 in.

Su hábitat natural son las selvas lluviosas, selvas de galería y vegetación secundaria. Su distribución comprende Panamá, Colombia, Ecuador, Venezuela, Trinidad y Tobago, Guyana, Surinam, Guayana Francesa, Brasil, este de Perú, norte de Bolivia, este de Paraguay, norte de Uruguay y en Argentina los Departamentos de Misiones, Corrientes y Entre Rios. De pico a cola mide 11 cm.

Its natural habitat are the rainforests, gallery forests and secondary vegetation. It distribution includes Panama, Colombia, Ecuador, Venezuela, Trinidad & Tobago, Guyana, Surinam, French Guiana, Brazil, east of Peru, north of Bolivia, east of Paraguay, north of Uruguay and in Argentina, the Departments of Misiones, Corrientes and Entre Rios. From peak to tail it measures 4.33 in.
