
The Black Jacobin or Black hummingbird is called in guarani "Mainumby Hu" (Florisuga fusca or Florisuga fuscus) was registered by Vieillot in 1817. It is a sudamerican species whose natural habitat is the plains of subtropical and tropical forests, especially in the Atlantic Forest of eastern Brazil, Uruguay, eastern Paraguay, and far north-eastern Argentina. From peak to tail this bird measures approximately 5.9 inches.
