El Colibrí serrano de frente blanca (Anthocephala floriceps) es endémica de Colombia. Fué registrado por Gould en 1854. Su hábitat natural son los bosques montañosos húmedos tropicales y subtropicales de la Sierra Nevada de Santa Martha al noreste de Colombia, sin embargo, puede ser encontrada también al centro de Colombia. Así que existen dos poblaciones separadas. Esta especie se encuentra amenazada por la pérdida de su hábitat, por esta razón fué incluida en el Apendice II del CITES. De pico a cola mide 8.4 cm.The Blossomcrown (Anthocephala floriceps) is endemic of Colombia. It was registered by Gould in 1854. Its natural habitat is subtropical and tropical moist montane forest of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta at north-east of Colombia, however it can be found also in central Colombia. So there are two disjunct population. This species is threatened by habitat lost, but that reason was included in the Appendix II of CITES. From peak to tail it measures 3.31 in.
