
The Sword-billed hummingbird (Ensifera ensifera) was registered by Boissonneau in 1839 and it is distinguished from others hummingbirds because it have a peak whose length is bigger than the rest of its body, which measures between 3.54 to 3.95 inches. This bird can be found in South America, specifically in Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador, Bolivia and Peru. From peak to tail it measures about 6.5 inches.
