El Picaflor bronceado o Zafiro dorado o Beija-flor dourado como es conocido en portugués (Hylocharis chysura) fué registrado por Shaw en 1812. Su distribución comprende el sur de Bolivia y Brasil, Paraguay, Uruguay y el norte de Argentina. Por ende, puede ser encontrado a lo largo de una amplia gama de hábitats abiertos y semiabiertos y areas urbanas. De pico a cola mide entre 10 y 11 centímetros.

The Gilded hummingbird or Gilded sapphire or Beija-flor dourado as is known in portuguese (Hylocharis chysura) was registered by Shaw in 1812. Its distribution includes center and southern Bolivia, southern Brazil, Paraguay, Uruguay and northern of the Argentine. Therefore, it can be found throughout a wide range of open and semi-open habitats and urban areas. From peak to tail it measures between 3.94 to 4.33 inches.
