La Amazilia pechiblanca o Diamante colidorado (Amazilia brevirostris) fué registrado por Lesson en 1829 y en ocasiones es catalogado en el género "Agyrtria". Su distribución comprende Granada, Trinidad y Tobago, Venezuela, Guyana, Suriname, Guayana Francesa y Brasil. Su hábitat natural comprende los bosques secos tropicales o subtropicales, bosques tropicales o subtropicales húmedos de tierras bajas, matorrales húmedos, sabanas secas, plantaciones y antiguos bosques muy degradados. De pico a cola mide aproximadamente 9 cm.

The White-chested emerald (Amazilia brevirostris) was registered by Lesson in 1829 and it has sometimes been placed in the genus "Agyrtria". Its distribution includes, Grenada, Trinidad & Tobago, Venezuela, Guyana, Suriname, French Guiana and Brazil. Its natural habitats are the Subtropical or tropical dry forests, subtropical or tropical moist forests, moist shrublands, dry savannas, plantations and heavily degraded former forest. From peak to tail it measures about 3.54 in.
