El Colibrí hada elegante o Picaflor de Fanny (Myrtis fanny) fué registrado por Lesson en 1838. Su hábitat natural son los matorrales húmedos subtropicales o tropicales, los matorrales de altitudes altas y bosques antiguos muy degradados. Su distribución comprende una franja que abarca todo el territorio de Ecuador y Perú bordeando prácticamente la costa del Pacífico. De pico a cola mide 10 centímetros.
The Purple-collared woodstar or Fanny's woodstar (Myrtis fanny) was registered by Lesson in 1838. Its natural habitat are subtropical or tropical moist shrubland, subtropical or tropical high-altitude shrubland and heavily degraded former forest. Its distribution includes a strip covering throughout Ecuador and Peru nearly along the Pacific coast. From peak to tail it measures 3.94 inches.
