Discosura letitiae

La Coqueta cobriza (Discosura letitiae o Popelairia letitiae) es un colibrí endémico de Bolivia. Fué registrado por Bourcier y Mulsant en 1852. Sólo se sabe de algunos ejemplares machos, por lo cual, tanto su comportamiento como hábitat son desconocidos. Incluso, se ha sugerido que es un híbrido o una variante de la especie "Discosura longicaudus", pero un estudio ha validado su estatus como una especie distinta a la referida. De pico a cola mide 9 cm.

The Coppery thorntail (Discosura letitiae or Popelairia letitiae) is an endemic hummingbird of Bolivia. It was registered by Bourcier and Mulsant in 1852. It is only known from some male specimens, therefore, its behavior and habitat are unknown. It has even been suggested that it represented a hybird or a variant of the "Discosura longicaudus" but a study has validated its status as a distinct species from the aforementioned. From peak to tail it measures 3.54 in.
