El Colibrí del Pirré o Tucusito de frente roja (Goethalsia bella) fué registrado por Nelson en 1912 y es el único miembro del género "Goethalsia". Su hábitat natural son los bosques tropicales o subtropicales húmedos de montaña, cuya altitud fluctua entre los 600 y 1650 metros de altitud. Su distribución comprende a partir de "La Reserva Natural Punta Patiño" y " El Corredor Biológico Serrania del Bagre" en Panamá hásta una región muy pequeña que colinda con el "Parque Nacional Natural los Katíos" en Colombia. Desafortunadamente, esta ave se encuentra en peligro por lo cual ha sido incluida en el Apéndice II del CITES. De pico a cola mide 8 cm.The Pirre hummingbird or Rufous-cheeked hummingbird (Goethalsia bella) was registered by Nelson in 1912 and it's the only member of the "Goethalsia" genus. Its natural habitat are the tropical or subtropical moist montanes forests, whose altitude ranges from 1,969 to 5,413 feets. It distribution includes from "Punta Patiño Nature Reserve" and "The Biological Correodor Serrania del Bagre" in Panama to a very small region adjacent to the "Los Katíos National Park " in Colombia. Unfortunately this bird is endangered, therefore, was included in the Appendix II of CITES. From peak to tail it measures 3.15 in.
