La Coqueta de cola celeste (Discosura conversii) fué registrada por Mulsant en 1846. Su distribución comprende desde Costa Rica hasta el oeste de Ecuador. Su hábitat natural son las laderas boscosas y selvas costeras aunque a veces, también son vistos en áreas donde predominan los matorrales y arbustos. De pico a cola mide 10 centímetros.
The Green Thorntail (Discosura conversii) was registered by Mulsant in 1846. Its distribution includes from Costa Rica to western Ecuador. Its natural habitat are the wooded slopes and coastal forest although, sometimes it is also seen in areas dominated by shrubs and bushes. From peak to tail it measures 3.94 inches.
